I’ve got my baby back.  Carbon Computing, props to your service department.

Gent at the counter there mentioned that there was a known issue with the graphics card in these machines, and that Apple had a program to fix ’em.

He ran replacement parts and labour through them, and got my computer fixed free of charge to me.  I’m thrilled.  It may not always be the case, but don’t let anyone chirp you that Apples are always ridiculously expensive to repair (they have a reputations for this, it seems).

    i’ve actually heard rave reviews on Apple’s customer service and repairs…. yours just adds to that mythology! glad to hear u got it back!
