I ran into some folks in the SLC handing out Don applications.  For a moment or two, I considered it.  After all, they had just given me a doughnut.  And they were offering money to do the job, too.

And then I read the application: Upbeat and outgoing – check, Leader – got it, Organizing events – sure thing, Good role model – …fuck, I should just give my application form and free doughnut back, then?

Hon, if they really meant that part of the application, us camp counsellors wouldn’t have jobs either. Part of the personality that makes us appealing to them is hooligan.

Nah, they really do. Ailoa got no life on the side because she had to be around to be a good role model so much. I don’t think I could deal with a year of no life just for the sake of taking care of a bunch of kids who don’t need it. Asides, I’d need to give up my place in Victory Manor and everything here.

Yeah… it sounds like a great idea, but it is so a trap. I have many friends Resident Assisting (our version of a Don) this year, and they HATE it. They actually have no life. It’s like being a permenant camp counselor (which sounds awesome) but not while you’re trying to do school and work and have a social life on the sidelines.
But yes, hooligan is definitely in the camp counselor job description. That and having no attention span and an unstoppable appetite.

I just felt so much sorry for Aiola’s lack of life. I don’t think I could do that.

And I fully meet the counsellor requirements, I can’t deny that.
