After a minor plumbing incident in our house, we learned exactly the sort of neighbourhood we live in.

Not one, not two, but three different neighbours offered to open their house to our guests so we wouldn’t have to cancel our annual Rosp Open House.  These people were not only comfortable offering to let us pop by and use the standard stuff, like bathrooms and kitchens, but they were willing to have our party in their houses.

This is why I love my neighbourhood.

We ended up going right next door for the party, their house is the largest and they offered first.  They had a grand time playing hosts and decided that if push comes to shove, they’d happily do it again next year – they’d just make sure that more of their own friends were on the list as well.

Because of the snow, we only had 30 or 40 people, but the (giant) ham disappeared anyway, as did much of the other food.  More people walked, and thus, were hungrier by the time they turned up at our place.  No objections, though, it was wonderful to see them and what leftovers we have are delicious.

Looking forward to next year already.
