Last Night

July 1, 2007

I was at a party on the North Shore last night, and learned some cool stuff.

First: Thixal lives in the fucking middle of nowhere. It tooke me 2 and a half hours to get there, and a large portion of the trip involved one of those shitty milk-run type community shuttles that switchbacked to and fro throughout that no-mans-land of bizarre nowheresville between North Van Proper and Deep Cove.

Second: School playsets are great places to smoke doober, so long as the kids have cleared out. You can sit on the cute platforms up high, there’s all sorts of cool toys for intoxicated adolescents to play with (Spiral slide while stoned, anyone…?), and they tend to be open enough that the smoke blows away and disperses before getting to any of the neighbor’s houses.

Third: One never really gets too old to play Spin the Bottle. Sometimes, you’re just too sober.

Fourth: You know you have a reputation as a partier when: you run into a friend of a friend on the street, and the boy with her introduces himself despite meeting you a few times ’cause (direct quote here) every time you’ve met him, you were “pretty much competely upside-down drunk.”

Hehehe… oh Spin the Bottle. That was quite the awesome party.

SO was. I’d do it again, no doubts.
