Movie: Happy Feet

November 23, 2006

Pallas and I have been talking about going to see this movie for ages now, and tonight we found the time to do so.

Happy Feet, my friends, is pretty damned epic. A decent story, incredible graphics, and a hero that I would like to take to bed sometime. (…Little guy looks warm and fuzzy. Nothing sexual about it. He just looks like a stuffed animal.) All sorts of great rhythms, and few dance routines that made both penguins and tap dance cool again, what more could I ask for?

There were a bunch of moments wherein I thought they’d end it and just leave us all hanging with a really depressing closer, but the hollywood love of a happy ending won out, and it turned up eventually… With the requisite dance number.

So, go see it. I give it good marks. It’s worth seeing in theatre just for the motion scenes alone, if not for all the beautiful arctic scenery and the like…

Tap dancing is always cool, even without penguins.

…Yes, but less so than when birds in tuxedos are involved.
